More about the project

This project will support the establishment and/or strengthening of Internally Displaced People (IDP) Councils in four hromadas of Sumy and Kharkiv oblasts: Balakliiska in Kharkiv oblast, and Velykopysarivska, Putyvlska and Yampilska in Sumy oblast. An IDP Council is a consultative and advisory body established under relevant local or regional authorities to represent the interests of internally displaced persons, support their participation in local decision-making, and contribute to the development of effective mechanisms for their adaptation and integration in host communities.

This project is supported by the Partnership Fund for a Resilient Ukraine (PFRU), funded by aid from the governments of Canada, Estonia, Finland, Norway, Sweden, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom.

The Partnership Fund for a Resilient Ukraine (PFRU) is a multi-donor programme funded by the governments of Canada, Estonia, Finland, Norway, Sweden, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom. PFRU’s objective is to strengthen Ukraine’s resilience in the face of Russian aggression by delivering essential support to local communities in collaboration with the Ukrainian government, civil society, media and the private sector.

Goal

  • Strengthen the participation of internally displaced persons in community life through the development of capable IDP Councils.
  • Create an effective platform for interaction between IDPs, local governments and the public.

  • Increasing the level of participation of IDPs in local decision-making
